FAQs

Does it hurt?

No. Unlike some lasers, the beams we use - infrared - are 100% safe.

By nature, Laser Warfare is an intense experience. There are a number of things we have done to try to reduce the chance of getting hurt:

  1. The woodland terrain is constantly managed with a close eye kept out for sharp branches at dangerous heights and removed on an almost daily basis
  2. We have done our absolute best to level the terrain as much as is practical and taken out any potholes etc. to reduce the risk of trips, falls and sprains, but, just like football, they can happen
  3. Hard hats are supplied to protect against the odd bump

What should I wear?

Nothing too precious, Laser Warfare is played in the woods using natural foliage and man-made bunkers to hide behind as you make your way towards the opposition. This means you will be running, jumping, sliding and diving across the floor dodging bullets and generally abusing whatever clothing you are wearing!

We supply camouflage suits that blend you into the background nicely, along with camo hard hats. Ideally you should wear clothing that is tough and fairly thick – old jeans or a pair of trackie bottoms underneath will serve you well.  On the top half, we recommend just an old T-shirt.

Gloves are always a good idea – ski gloves, thick leather gloves

Is it like paintball?

It is similar to paintball that is also sometimes played in the woods, however, there are no physical projectiles being fired from the guns, only harmless laser beams.

Is it like Quasar/LaserTag?

Laser Warfare works in a similar way to both, but is played outside in the woods and with the latest technology in laser guns – we even use red dot sights.

What scenarios do you run?

We run a choice of scenarios.  We often play a few different ones such as ‘Capture the flag’ and ‘Protect the President’, and then let the group choose their favourite.

Where is it?

We have a purpose built arena in Holden’s Wood directly adjacent to the Brentwood Karting go-kart circuit.

What are the guns like?

We use the very latest Battlestorm CQB advanced assault rifle with red dot laser sight - they look and feel just like the real thing. In fact, the British Military use the very same model for their combat training and exercises.

Is it suitable for adults as well?

Absolutely!  We often run events for birthday/stag/hen groups as well as for corporate team building sessions.  We have also run some practice drills for military parties.

How long does it last?

We offer a range of options to suit you – you can simply ‘Arrive ‘n’ Survive’ – turn up and have a 30 minute blast with your mates, or take part in a tournament lasting up to 2 hours,

What happens if I run out of bullets?

Depending on the scenario, you can re-gen back at base or at a pre-determined point.  If not… retreat!!
